Vegan Chocolate Layer Cake

This vegan chocolate cake is ultra-moist, deeply chocolatey, and topped with a silky dairy-free frosting 🍫✨ Perfect for birthdays—or just because!


🧾 Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup plant milk
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup vegan butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2–3 tbsp plant milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    350°F (175°C). Grease cake pan
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    Flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, salt
  3. Add wet ingredients
    Mix in plant milk, oil, vinegar, vanilla
  4. Bake
    Pour into pan → bake 30–35 minutes
  5. Cool completely
    (Important before frosting!)
  6. Make frosting
    Beat all frosting ingredients until smooth
  7. Assemble
    Frost cake and slice
