Vegan Chocolate Fudge Squares Recipe

(Makes 16–25 squares)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (340g) vegan dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (400ml) full-fat coconut milk
  • ¼ cup (60ml) maple syrup or agave (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or peanuts), peanut butter swirl, or shredded coconut

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch (or similar) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt the chocolate: In a saucepan over low heat (or microwave in 30-second bursts), gently heat the coconut milk until warm but not boiling. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then whisk until completely smooth and glossy.
  3. Flavor it: Stir in maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. If using add-ins like nuts or peanut butter, fold them in now.
  4. Set: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Tap the pan gently on the counter to remove air bubbles. Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours (or overnight) until fully firm.
  5. Cut & serve: Lift out using the parchment and cut into squares. For clean cuts, dip your knife in hot water and wipe between slices.

Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months.
