Base

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (or thin-sliced steak)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or butter)

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika

Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup provolone or Monterey Jack
  • (Optional) 2 oz cream cheese for extra creaminess

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Beef

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet.
  2. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

2️⃣ Sauté the Veggies

  1. In the same skillet, add olive oil.
  2. Sauté peppers, onions, garlic, and mushrooms until tender-crisp (about 6–8 minutes).

3️⃣ Build the Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread cooked beef evenly in a baking dish.
  3. Top with the sautéed veggies.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella + provolone over everything.
  5. (Optional) Dot small chunks of cream cheese between layers for extra richness.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 15–18 minutes, or until the top is melted, bubbly, and golden in spots.
