- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 lb cooked ham, cubed
- 2 cups cabbage, chopped
- 2–3 carrots, diced
- 2–3 potatoes, diced (optional but delicious)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour (or cornstarch slurry for gluten-free)
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
🍲 Directions
- Sauté your veggies:
In a large pot, melt butter and cook onions, carrots, and cabbage until softened. - Add the meats:
Stir in the smoked sausage and ham, letting them warm and release their flavors. - Build the broth:
Add chicken broth, seasonings, and potatoes (if using).
Simmer 20–25 minutes until everything is tender. - Make it creamy:
Stir in heavy cream.
To thicken, whisk flour into a little warm broth, then add back into the pot. - Simmer & serve:
Let the stew gently bubble for another 5–7 minutes until rich and creamy.
